ESI Group Launches CEM Solutions 2014

The software's newest release includes new tools for the automotive industry, such as a multi-scale modeling process.

ESI Group, a solution provider of virtual prototyping for manufacturing has released CEM Solutions 2014. The software offers electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) specialists, equipment designers and systems integrators a solution for integrating hybrid and coupled processes across the electromagnetic spectrum.

In the 2014 release, CEM Solutions integrates all major time and frequency methods within one framework with Visual-CEM, a portion of ESI’s multi-domain simulation platform. This provides efficient simulation of electromagnetic phenomena for fully realistic virtual prototypes, the company states. There is also a specific focus on automotive applications in this updated version.

Updates of CEM Solutions 2014 for the automotive sector include:

  • Enhanced virtual testing capabilities with a dedicated Radio Noise process to evaluate spurious electromagnetic noise.
  • A multi-scale modeling process that combines standard computational techniques with analytical formations.
  • The ability to investigate 24GHz RADAR sensor performance.
Applications for the marine, aeronautics and defense sectors have also been added. These include enhancements to Radar Absorbing Materials (RAM), which can be used for stealth purposes, multilayer radomes structures and other phased array antennas.

Visual-CEM has also been upgraded and included in CEM Solutions. The virtual environment supports computation engines operating in both time and frequency domains and can also provide updates to 3D polar plots.
