SLA 3D Printing With Engineering Materials: From CAD Design to Finished Part

In this webinar, Kevin Gautier, Channel Application Engineer at Formlabs, will walk you through the SLA 3D printing process from initial concept in CAD to finished physical part and share a range of applications you can use with our Engineering Resins.

DATE: Wednesday, October 7, 2018

TIME: 2:00 pm ET/ 11:00 am PT

Workloading, CNC machining setup, and programming can get very labor intensive and expensive when designing for demanding tolerances. With increasingly affordable, stereolithography (SLA) 3D printers available, engineers and product designers can create detailed and high-surface quality parts with significantly less labor and time.

In this webinar, Kevin Gautier, Channel Application Engineer at Formlabs, will walk you through the SLA 3D printing process from initial concept in CAD to finished physical part and share a range of applications you can use with our Engineering Resins.

What you will learn:

  • How to prepare a design with demanding tolerances, 3D print a model, and post-process it
  • How to use engineering materials and their respective applications for SLA printing
  • Advantages of SLA over fused deposition modeling (FDM) and digital light processing (DLP) technology

Speakers

Kevin Gautier, Channel Applications Engineer, Formlabs

Kevin Gautier is very passionate about digital fabrication technologies. He trains Formlabs channel partners on new applications and materials, and works with several high profile accounts to demonstrate capabilities of SLA printing. He mentors a Formula SAE Team, and uses CAD, 3D Printing, and CNC machining to build projects ranging from composite molds to electric vehicles to robotic motion simulators.

Moderator: Faris Sheikh, Webinar Lead, Formlabs

Faris is responsible for running the global webinar program at Formlabs to educate thousands of people across the world on using 3D printing in specific applications across engineering, manufacturing, dentistry, jewelry, and healthcare.
