CNC programming system supports latest release of SolidWorks

GibbsCAM developer Gibbs and Associates (Moorpark, CA), demonstrated SolidWorks/GibbsCAM interoperabilityatNational Design Engineering Show and Conference 2005 (NDES) in Chicago, IL earlierthismonth.

Along with GibbsCAM’s extended direct read of SolidWorks model filescapability, Gibbs also demonstrated the latest versions of theSolidWorks-to-GibbsCAM transfer add-in that is fully compatible withSolidWorks 2005. According to the company, the add-in allows users to transferproductmodels directly from within SolidWorks into GibbsCAM to quickly developefficient CNC programs for machining.

GibbsCAM is also designed to provide the means to update previously definedtoolpath reflecting changes to the SolidWorks model.
