Moldflow Corporation (Framingham, MA) has announced “significantimprovements” to its Matrix user interface for its high-end Altaniumhot runner process control system. New data recording functions, stagedstart-up, and shared platform increase user productivity and loweroverall cost, according to the company.

New features in Matrix version 2.2 include the ability to track allchanges made to the process. This includes the ability to log trackingdata as well as the operator who made the changes, a critical step forFDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliance. Matrix 2.2’s new user-defined start-upsequence enables you to program the most efficient method of heating upthe mold by allowing you to assign temperature zones for up to four,independently controllable start-up stages.

Enhancements in Matrix 2.2 also are said to include the ability to select when datashould be recorded, expanded printing options, faster data transferfrom USB devices, and the ability to customize the names of exporteddatasets. Additionally, Matrix can now run on the same operatorinterface used for Moldflow’s Shotscope and MPX.
