The new KISTERS VisShare allows users to install server components not only in the cloud, but also on-premises. It is made for those who’d like to keep the system and their data under their own control, according to the company.

VisShare is a Multi-CAD enabled Web environment, primarily targeting manufacturing enterprises. It's simple, according to the company: create a project, assign people, add CAD data (by drag and drop), then share a link to a file or give people direct access to the project.

“Of course VisShare may be used as an internal corporate solution, but it is also a wonderful solution for project teams, consisting of internal and external people. VisShare ships with everything you need for easy and secure CAD data sharing, visualization, analysis and management of all your 3D and 2D CAD data,” says Kelly Baumann, KISTERS North America business development manager. “It does not require any client installation. And we give you the choice: run your own VisShare server in the cloud or from within your own network, with your own hardware, on-premises.”

“With VisShare, geometries are never downloaded to the client’s device, it uses KISTERS WebViewer with server-side rendering for visualization.” she adds. “That also means no download times, even with small bandwidth. TChange requests will remain on the server, there will be no need for files, screenshots, Powerpoints or PDFs going back and forth.”

VisShare ships with current and mature importers for a broad range of 3D and 2D file formats including i.e. Catia, NX, Creo, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Inventor, Revit, JT, 3D-PDF, STEP, DWG, DXF, DWF, MS Office and more.
