Lenovo Releases Two New Think Products
May 13, 2014
Lenovo announced at its Accelerate 2014 Partner Forum two new product portfolio additions, the ThinkPad 10 and ThinkStation P300.
According to Lenovo, the ThinkPad 10 is designed for users looking for ultimate flexibility and connectivity. The ThinkPad provides support for a Tablet Dock or USB 3.0 docking station, which allows support for an external display, mouse or keyboard. There is also the option for Tablet, Stand, Laptop and Desktop modes.
It sports a 10 inch HD display, 4GB memory, up to 128GB of storage and runs Windows 8.1 (with options for 64-bit support). The ThinkPad can also be configured for 3G/4G LTE wireless, and includes a digitizer pen.
“Customers want a versatile device that adapts to their way of life and offers uncompromised productivity whether in the office or on the move,” said Luis Hernandez, vice president and general manager, ThinkPad, Lenovo. “Our new ThinkPad 10 tablet marries business optimized features with a unique multimode design to offer an exceptional computing experience that allows users to work, play and create in virtually any environment.”
Also announced is the release of the ThinkStation P300, an entry-level workstation with a new design for flexibility. The chassis has been redesigned to feature red touch points and extended back and front lips, instead of a handle, for easy carrying, the company says.
The ThinkStation P300 tower is equipped with 4th Generation Intel Core processor and ECC memory support. Additional specifications include a NIVIDIA NV5 Graphics Card, 32GB memory and support for Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) and Windows 8.1 (64 bit) operating systems.
Lenovo is also offering its new FLEX module option, making the ThinkStation P3oo configurable. Users can add eSATA and IEEE 1394 FireWire ports, an ultra-slim optical drive, 29-in-1 media card reader. Users can also install a 500GB, 1TB or 2TB SATA HHD. This, the company states, gives users the option to add only the necessary components, allowing for customized productivity-boosting configurations.
“Professional workstation users run very advanced, specialized applications. The ThinkStation P300 features the processing power, graphics capabilities and ISV certifications, needed to run these applications smoothly,” said Victor Rios, vice president and general manager, Workstation, Lenovo. “But the ThinkStation P300 also gives these users a new level of customization. The new FLEX module provides a Fully Loaded Experience, offering customers truly unique configurations.”
The ThinkPad 10 will be available for $599 starting in June online and at select small retailers. The ThinkStation P300 will be available for $729 base price online and at Lenovo business partners. Customers can purchase the ThinkStation in tower and Small Form Factor models.
