MakerBot Launches Thingiverse Developer Program

MakerBot has launched the Thingiverse Developer Program, allowing users to create functionalities and services through the 3D printing community. With Thing App APIs (application programming interfaces), developers can make applications for other platforms.

According to MakerBot, the company is categorizing apps three ways: print services, customization and modification. The company has currently launched applications with 3D Hubs and MakePrintable.
