Mastercam Adds Dynamic Motion Technology

This functionality can help reduce cycle times as well as machine wear, the company states.

Mastercam has integrated Dynamic Motion Technology, a new way of creating toolpaths. This feature is available in the newest version of the CAM software. With Dynamic Motion, users can cut faster, extend tool and machine life and rough hard material, the company states.

Dynamic Motion makes toolpaths that calculate not only where metal is removed, but also account for the changing conditions of the material throughout the machining process. This can help reduce cycle times anywhere from 25 to 75%, according to the company.

For extending tool and machine life, Dynamic Motion produces a consistent chip load, which reduces vibration. It also uses a looping motion that removes the need for abrupt directional changes, keeping machines accurate, the company states.
