NEC Display Solutions of America (Chicago,  IL) announced the MultiSync LCD3090WQXi widescreen display, which delivers display performance for professional users in the CAD/CAM industries. An extension of NEC’s MultiSync 90-Series, this 30-in. display is a 4-megapixel (MP) widescreen LCD is for color performance.

The LCD3090WQXi offers ColorComp, which reduces LCD uniformity errors and compensates for differences in color/grayscale and luminance as well as advanced backlight technology. This enables the display to produce 102 percent of the NTSC color scale for color gradation and 97.8 percent coverage of the Adobe RGB color space.

The LCD3090WQXi includes a 12-bit internal lookup table, 2560 x 1600 resolution,  and High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP), which is supported through the DVI-D connector. The LCD incorporates in-plane switching (IPS)  module technology, said to deliver color reproduction and brightness uniformity by minimizing off-angle color shift and clearer black tones in dark-colored images.

Some features in the MultiSync LCD3090WQXi include X-Light Pro-Backlight/sensor design; 12-bit internal LUT for precise adjustments; AmbiBright, which automatically adjusts the display’s backlight; extended DVI-D cables up to 30 meters (or 100 meter analog cables); analog DVI-I inputs; accessible horizontal and vertical control buttons for onscreen management in landscape or portrait modes; and a four-year parts and labor warranty.

The MultiSync LCD3090WQXi (ESP $2,199.99) is compatible with NEC’s color calibration software for hardware calibration and profiling; a sensor can be connected directly to the monitor; extended 190mm height adjustment range;  quick-release stand for easy mounting on third-party arms or wall mounts; and all functions can be locked out at the display for greater setting security. The new 30-in. display is RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) compliant.

NEC will also be previewing an upcoming 42-in. curved display at the 2008 Macworld Conference and Expo.
