Partnership opens opportunity for companies to bundle the Cyborg3D MeshToCAD software with the Thor3D hand scanner.

Thor3D and nPower Software announce a partnership to bundle the Cyborg3D MeshToCAD software with the Thor3D hand scanner. Cyborg3D MeshToCAD is a standalone software product that is designed to improve the process of converting mesh geometry into CAD geometry. Cyborg3D MeshToCAD is a tool for converting difficult, organic scanned meshes into fully functional CAD (NURBS) models.

Cyborg3D MeshToCAD is suited for converting even very large, organic meshes into accurate NURBS geometry, according to the company. Cyborg3D MeshToCAD provides accuracy / model size. The technology produces a lightweight model, while capturing fine details in the mesh surface. Cyborg3D's adaptive technology solves even complex and difficult meshes.

Cyborg3D MeshToCAD allows users control over the level of detail they want to preserve in the mesh. Cyborg3D MeshToCAD provides a full set of useful tools for detecting mesh issues and cleaning them up for accurate conversion.

Cyborg3D MeshToCAD can quickly and easily process even very complex, organic mesh files. Cyborg3D MeshToCAD produces NURBS surfaces / solids, with G2 continuity along the edges. It produces STEP or IGES files, which can be imported directly into virtually all CAD systems.

Cyborg3D MeshToCAD is based on the Power Surfacing RE (Reverse Engineering) product for SolidWorks, with virtually the same set of tools (and the same underlying technology).
