ROMER (Montoire, France), a Hexagon Metrology company, released the INFINITE 5012, a 4-foot portable model of its flagship measuring arm line. With its light weight and small footprint, the 5012 is designed for small jobs such as benchtop measuring, CAD-to-part comparison, and quick dimensional checks inside a machine tool.
WIFI connectivity and onboard battery power contribute to the INFINITE 5012’s portability. Instead of a counterbalance, as on the larger-size INFINITE models, the 5012 features an integrated tungsten counterweight that delivers light-touch ergonomics and fluid motion. Automatic probe detection allows quick probe changes without recalibration.
The INFINITE 5012 is available with any of ROMER’s standard software packages, including PC-DMIS Portable, DOCS, and Delcam PowerInspect.
