Siemens Announces NX 10

The new version delivers up to three times higher productivity, the company states.

Siemens has launched the latest version of its NX software, with new capabilities that deliver expanded product development flexibility and up to three times more productivity.

New tools in version 10 include improvements to the NX Realize Shape solution, a fully integrated sub-devision modeling environment, an optional touch-enabled interface and tighter integration with PLM (product lifecycle management) software.

Enhancements to the NX Realize Shape solution gives designers more control over geometry modeling and the ability to produce products with highly stylized shapes or complex surfaces.

Additional CAD/CAM/CAE enhancements to NX 10 include a new NX CAE multiphysics environment, industry-specific capabilities for NX CAM as well as production line functionalities for automotive assembly manufacturing.

“NX 10 continues to improve on the robust functionality and user-friendly features that customers need to manage the ever-increasing complexity of product designs,” said Jim Rusk, senior vice president, Product Engineering Software, Siemens PLM Software. “The new and enhanced capabilities make the early concept phase — which is one of the most important phases of the design — easier and faster. The new touch-enabled interface and tighter integration with Active Workspace gives NX 10 unprecedented versatility, providing anytime, anywhere access to product data. This enhanced access helps our customers make smarter decisions that result in better products.”

Siemens NX 10 will be available in December.
