Stratasys Selected to Print Parts for Airbus

The company will use Fused Deposition Modeling to produce the end products.

Stratasys, a provider of 3D printing and additive manufacturing solutions, has been selected by Airbus to produce 3D-printed parts for its A350 XWB aircraft. The organization has already made more than 1000 flight parts on FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) production systems.

The parts are printed with the ULTEM 9085 resin, which provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and is compliant for aircraft interior applications, according to the company.
