Sundance DSP (Concord, NH), which designs and manufactures mixed COTS (commercial off-the-shelf) digital signal processing (DSP) and FPGA architectures, just released is a new version of its SMT370, reengineered into an industrial variant, offering a high-quality and tightly integrated analog interface for digital signaling applications.
In addition to the installation of industrial-related components, the heatsink and fan arrangement of the standard version have been replaced by a custom-made anodized aluminum heatsink that doubles as a Faraday cage. This protects the analog signals from noise. With no airflow, the system is rated to an ambient temperature of 40 degrees C, with no moving parts to replace.
The Sundance SMT370-I interface offers a pair of 14-bit ADCs clocked at 105MHz plus a pair of 16-bit DACs clocked up to 400MHz with interpolation. These are interlinked with its large Xilinx Virtex-II FPGA. The module can be combined with Sundance’s range of DPS, FPGA, storage, and radio modules to create full digital processing systems from COTS parts.
Sundance’s systems are reconfigurable for all high-speed I/O and signal processing applications for rapid prototyping (RP) and development of embedded systems for wireless infrastructures, satcom, industrial signal processing, sonar/radar, software defined radio (SDR), multimedia, telecom, and more.
