Publish products enable the publishing of 3DEXPERIENCE data directly from within the design application into an interactive 3D PDF document format.

Theorem Solutions reports that the latest CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE 3D PDF solution from the Publish range of products has been released. V24.2 supports CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE 2018x, 2019x, 2020x and now 2021x.

Theorem’s 3D PDF products offer a 3D PDF publishing solution, enabling users to share their engineering data created in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE with departments who do not have CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE but need access to a 3D representation.

Publish products enable the publishing of 3DEXPERIENCE data directly from within the design application into an interactive 3D PDF document format, or an HTML5 output for use in web browsers.

The web browser version mirrors the interactive PDF format, giving users the ability to access 3D documents in all available browsers, whether on desktop, tablet or mobile devices (IOS and Android) making it an asset to automate the build of interactive online catalogs and parts lists directly from source CAD.

Anybody with access to the freely available Adobe Reader, either on a PC, tablet or smartphone can access the interactive 3D data and are able to view, mark up and interrogate the document without the use of specialist CAD software. 3D PDF documents are lightweight enough to send via email, which makes them ideal for sharing within an organization, or with the wider supply chain.

This means that users can output both PDF and HTML5 outputs at the same time, while still protecting the IP as users are only viewing a representation of the data.

3D PDF has many use cases and opens up access to CAD and Visualization data that was previously only accessible to engineers and designers:

  • Inspection reports for quality and inspection departments
  • Works instructions for manufacturing departments
  • Request for quotation for purchasing departments
  • Engineering change request for engineering departments
  • Bill of materials (BOM) for manufacturing departments

Publish products support the publishing of Model Based Definition (MBD) data, 3D annotations (PMI) and model views from 3DEXPERIENCE into the 3D PDF format. It offers greater levels of Intellectual Property (IP) protection with support for Document Rights Management (DRM) ranging from separate passwords to control the 3D PDF output, to full integration with DRM systems.

As 3D PDF is an ISO standard (ISO 24517-1 (PDF/E), the technology can be easily integrated and can effectively become the protocol for easy, document creation and communication.

Theorem’s strategic partnerships with Dassault Systemes ensures that there is parallel development between the latest release of CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE, and Theorem’s 3D PDF products, allowing Theorem to continue to provide data solutions for the CAD community.
