Vero Software Releases Edgecam 2015 R2

This version has approximately 50 updates.

Vero Software has launched Edgecam 2015 R2. This release, the company states, has a variety of updates to CAD/CAM functionalities for milling, turning and wire EDM. Version 2015 R2 has approximately 50 new items added to the platform.

Some highlights include an upgrade to the multi-spindle lathe setup, a new port machining module for a 5-axis cycle and time savings for the enhanced hole cycle.

Updates have also been made to Edgecam’s internal modeling software, Edgecam Workflow Solids. There is a Slotting Tool command for quickly creating uniform profiles. These profiles adopt shape and can add width, depth, fillets and corner blends to the feature. Users can also automatically add dimensional constraints through the Sketch Analysis function.

For Wire EDM, version 2015 R2 has advanced controls for 2- and 4-axis wire EDM machining cycles, Corner Relief and enhanced Glue Stops.

Machine simulation of thread cutting is now available in this release, and users can view and analyze thread forms created by the Thread Turn cycle. Viewing options are offered as an accurate representation or a pictorial image of the thread.

Vero Software also stated that PTC Creo Parametric users can launch Edgecam directly from the application, with the resulting file including manufacturing information and thread data.
