Arena Solutions (Foster City, CA) has recently introduced the latestversion of its PLM application, Arena PLM Fall 06. By integratingwith Avnet Prómiere’s dynamic content and working with Skype’ssoftware, Arena enables new enterprise mash-up services.
With Arena PLM Fall 06, Arena Solutions has added a new value-addedservice into its PLM application that enables manufacturers tointegrate dynamic content from Avnet (Tempe, AZ) Prómiere directly intotheir Arena PLM solution through a point and click interface. AvnetPrómiere offers a database of electronic component content consistingof data for more than 19 million electronic components includingend-of-lifecycle data, restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) andenvironmental regulation information, product change notifications, andpart datasheets.
By being able to access the Avnet Prómiere database from within ArenaPLM, manufacturers can improve item selection and reduce componentduplication, determine and eliminate non-compliant components in newproduct design, and identify environmental compliance and supply chainissues. In addition, by being able to analyze componentsreference data in real-time, manufacturers can gain early visibilityinto critical end-of-life data, as well as avoid using obsolete or nearend-of-life parts.
Arena PLM Fall 06 uses Skype (Luxembourg) Software to enable customersto instantly call and text chat with their co-workers, suppliers, andpartners within the context of their PLM environment. This allows usersto detect the on-line presence of specific product teams, and theninstantly engage them in a conference call, text chat, or send groupe-mail.
