NVision Laser Scanning Service is Instrumental in Getting Replica Airsoft Guns to Market Faster

NVision’s laser scanning service bureau has been credited with getting Soft Air USA, Inc.’s licensed replica airsoft guns to market much faster by employing reverse engineering to manufacture the guns.

Saving four to six weeks’ production time, NVision used laser scanning to produce a CAD file of the gun’s geometry. Soft Air USA uses contract manufacturers in Asia to build the airsoft guns. In the past,  manufacturers would travel to the U.S. to make silicon molds, as the real guns can’t be shipped to Asia where the replicas are manufactured because of regulations in both the U.S. and Asian countries. They then took the molds to Asia where they were used to make injection molds to produce the replica guns.

As a result of NVision’s reverse engineering, the guns are getting to market faster, which company spokesmen say is a 25 percent increase in revenues generated by each product.

Soft Air USA, Inc, a subsidiary of Cybergun S.A., a manufacturer of replica airsoft guns, supplies many of these products for use by the military and law enforcement for training exercises. They employ 6 mm plastic balls using a low-power spring, CO2, gas or electric force which is created to avoid possible injury.
