SPECapc for 3ds Max 2015 Released

The platform contains 48 tests for comprehensive measurement of modeling, interactive graphics, visual effects and CPU and GPU performance.

SPECapc for 3ds Max 2015 is now available from Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation. The platform is for running benchmark tests of systems running Autodesk 3ds Max.

The software contains 48 tests for comprehensive measurement of modeling, interactive graphics, visual effects, CPU and GPU (graphics processing unit) performance. New features include enhancements for new DirectX 11 shaders and vector maps, the Nitrous viewport and new dynamics and visual effects. The benchmark also improves run-to-run consistency and results reporting.

Benchmark results for SPECapc are derived by taking the total number of seconds to run each test and normalize it. For the initial tests, the company used a Dell Precision 690 workstation with 2.0 GHx Intel Xeon 5130 processor, 4 x 4GB DDR2 SDRAM and a NVIDIA Quadro Q600 graphics card.

The benchmark can be run at 4K and HD resolutions and different anti-alaising levels: 0xAA, 2x, 4x and 8xAA.

It is available for immediate download and is offered under a two-tiered pricing structure It is free for non-commercial users and SPEC/GWPG members and $2,500 for commercial entities.
