Applied Dynamics has released an update to its ADEPT industrial IoT software platform, a data framework that links real-time Linux servers as a distributed resource. Key among its uses is one-click rapid prototyping (RP) deployment.
The company says ADEPT simplifies the RP process by allowing teams to quickly test developmental control models with real-world systems or simulations, without the need to create application-specific embedded hardware.
Applied Dynamics says ADEPT’s use of time- and frequency-based computation allows an entire framework of digital assets to run in lockstep as a single system. For rapid prototyping, this means the bridge between virtual development activities and real-world testing is synchronized throughout the platform and all connected assets.
Key attributes of ADEPT that impact rapid development include:
- Mix-and-match models from a variety of toolchains
- Optimal I/O from top commercial sources
- Drag-and-drop connections for models and I/O
- Off-the-shelf server-class computation
- Same codebase for real-time and synchronized virtual models
- Feature-rich operator interfaces
- Robust data acquisition and playback
- Performance statistics, health monitoring
- Python scripting, open APIs
- Integrated revision control
The company adds that ADEPT is also being used to develop modern data-centric Integration, Verification, and Validation (IVV) workflows, especially as a component of larger Model Based Systems Engineering deployments.
