Roland has announced the opening of the Roland DGA Creative Center in Irvine, CA. This gallery of innovative applications is on display in the company’s headquarters, reflecting the imagination of Roland professionals from around the world.
The Roland DGA Creative Center brings together the work of screen printers, sign makers, label makers, fabric decorators, product designers, fine artists, engravers, jewelry makers, gift designers, vehicle graphics designers, movie and television set designers, and others whose work demonstrates exceptional creativity and craftsmanship.
The gallery joins an international network of Roland Creative Centers that includes galleries located in Japan, Belgium, Italy, and Germany. A virtual Creative Center gallery featuring hundreds of exhibits is also in development and will soon be available for viewing online.
“In developing the Roland DGA Creative Center, we asked our customers for their most unique projects and built museum-quality exhibits around these items,” said Dave Goward, Roland DGA president and CEO. “We are very proud of the results.”
The U.S. gallery master plan is divided into five themed sections: Roland @ Play, Roland @Work, Roland @ the Movies, Roland @ Home and Roland on the Road. More than 100 exhibits are already installed. Taking center stage is a replica of an 1895 Otto Lilienthal flying machine that hangs from the ceiling and spans 20 ft. in width, featuring fabric wing graphics produced on the company’s AdvancedJET grand-format printer.
Exhibits feature jewelry designs, fine art sculptures, digitally printed murals and wraps. Creative Center visitors have the opportunity to view engraved guitars, digitally printed beer taps, sublimated and rhinestone decorated apparel, engraved wooden children’s toys, custom printed window blinds, reproductions from movie sets and a even a home décor exhibit complete with a dining area, sublimated tile sink, and wrapped refrigerator. The company’s showcase Scion is featured as well, sporting a print/cut wrap and fully sublimated interior graphics.
Visitors to the exhibit are welcome. For more information, visit Roland DGA.
