Lenovo introduces the ThinkReality VRX, an enterprise-class virtual reality headset designed specifically for the enterprise. This immersive display works with virtual, augmented and mixed reality applications.

Lenovo says the VRX is “the VR solution of choice for training and collaborating in immersive 3D.” It is a six-degrees-of-freedom unit, supported by cloud software. The headset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1 processor. It offers full-color high-resolution pass-through capabilities as required for workplace settings.

The company says the design uses innovative “pancake” lenses to keep the form factor slim. The battery has been designed for optimal weight distribution to improve comfort in extended use. A new venting design channels heat from the display away from the wearer’s face.

Lenovo says it used hygienic materials to make the VRX. Security was a top priority during design and manufacturing with “enterprise-grade security practices and a secure supply chain.”

Intended uses for the ThinkReality VRX include 3D design, immersive training and collaboration. The headset is supported by a portfolio of services including a cloud software platform for fast headset deployment.

Companies wanting to develop new applications for the VRX may use the Snapdragon Spaces development platform, which offers an OpenXR Software Development Kit (SDK).

The Lenovo ThinkReality XRX has a suggested retail price of $1,299. Enterprise pricing is available. Lenovo also offers device-as-a-service financing and service through TruScale. For more details visit the ThinkReality VRX home page.
