As companies scrambled to shift their design and engineering teams into a work-from-home model, software vendors across the engineering space rushed to their assistance by offering free access to home-based licensing, helping customers access remote servers and HPC clusters, and providing additional technical support. In some cases, these companies also pitched in directly to help health care providers receive needed personal protective equipment (PPE) such as facemasks and face shields, as well as ventilator parts.

Siemens Digital Industries Software responded to the current crisis not only by offering remote access to its software tools, but also by opening up its Additive Manufacturing Network and 3D printers to enable the design and production of medical supplies.
