Taiwan-based Phrozen launches its Sonic MEGA 8K 3D printer. Preorders kicked off on May 27.
The 3D printer has a notably large size and high precision printing capabilities, offering printing with 8K resolution, according to Phrozen. Additionally it features a precalbirated building plate with no further calibration necessary. It also is housed in a full metal exterior.
Phrozen’s Sonic Mega 8K enables commercial 3D printing; the company also touts the ability to have both size and quality in one print, at the same time. Sonic Mega 8K showcases ability to print details at 43µm, producing 3D models that are highly detailed as a large-scale 3D printer, company says. The 3D printer comes with a large 15-in. Mono-LCD printing area. It features a large XY printing area with a 40 cm tall Z-axis, enabling ability to print larger models in one sitting. All Sonic Mega 8K building plates will be calibrated before they are shipped.
For a stable Z-axis, Sonic Mega 8K adopts this specific design so that large and heavy objects can be printed with no wobbling.
Phrozen Sonic Mega 8K is made completely of metal. This strengthens the entire structure, making it stronger, and more sustainable for long-term usage.
Supported by CHITUBOX slicer software system, it provides users with the settings to print out models with the best details possible.
Sonic Mega 8K comes with two fans that work to release excess heat from the device.
