Acrobat 7.0 Improves Document Workflows

Adobe Systems Inc.(San Jose, CA) has announced version 7.0 of its Acrobat family ofproducts, which includes Acrobat 7.0 Standard, Acrobat 7.0Professional, and the free Adobe Reader 7.0. New features in Acrobat gobeyond converting documents into the popular Adobe PDF (PortableDocument Format). Now, users can use Acrobat 7.0 and Adobe PDF tomanage critical business processes such as assembling documents frommultiple sources, creating intelligent forms, and securelycollaborating on projects inside and outside the firewall.

A new key feature of Acrobat 7.0 Professional enables users to turn onthe Acrobat mark-up tools in free Adobe Reader 7. This means that youcan extend participation in document reviews to users of the free AdobeReader 7.0, who can then add comments, notes, and highlights to AdobePDF files using Acrobat's review and commenting tools.

Adobe also announced that Acrobat 7.0 Professional will be integratedinto Adobe Creative Suite Premium. Acrobat 7.0 Professional letscreative professionals share files for commenting and proofing, fixprint output errors, and optimize PDF files for print productionrequirements.

Acrobat 7.0 also supports the Universal 3D (U3D) format. Adobe'ssupport for U3D allows Acrobat 7.0 Professional users to place U3Dobjects, such as 3D graphic product designs, in Adobe PDF files, wherethey can be viewed and interacted with by anyone with Acrobat or thefree Adobe Reader.
