Luxology has launched MODO 701, which includes enhancements to its modelling, sculpting, animation, effects and rendering workflows. A Linux OS version is also in the works.
New features include a procedural particle engine with a pre-set workflow; an audio playback and a sound channel modifier; schematic improvements, reducing scene graph complexity; a dedicated dynamics simulation layer; simplified complexity of materials and layered shaders; large scene performance improvements, and a new Python interpreter.
