meviy, the on-demand custom parts manufacturing service developed by MISUMI Group, Inc., has made available new heat treatment methods for CNC milling.

By adding heat treatment, meviy enables customers to select from a range of treatment types and hardness levels to meet design requirements. Engineers can specify full part hardening methods, choosing from two advanced options to suit manufacturing needs. Immersion quenching uses a conventional furnace and oil bath. This method delivers results for various parts. Vacuum quenching, an advanced technique, uses a vacuum furnace and gradual quenching process to minimize part distortion and achieve an improved surface finish.

Heat treatment is available for CNC milled parts within the following size range. Maximum size is 150×150×60 mm. The minimum size is 10×10×8 mm. Additionally, meviy offers a range of standard and selectable hardness values for various materials.

Current supported materials and hardness ranges include: 1049 Steel: 30–50 HRCD2 Steel: 50–63 HRC4140 Alloy Steel: 30–55 HRC.
