meviy, powered by Misumi, in the on-demand manufacturing solutions space, announces immediate availability of inch Tap and Thread for CNC Milling and Turning. This new capability expands design possibilities for engineers by enabling the manufacture of components requiring inch screws and threads, accommodating a range of sizes to meet various application needs, the company says,

With the addition of inch threads, meviy provides an enhanced solution for designs requiring ANSI standard inch hardware, allowing engineers to simplify assembly processes.

Details of new inch thread capability:

  • Tapping for CNC Milling and Turning: Sizes available from #2 to 5/8-in.
  • External and Internal Threads for CNC Turning: Sizes available from #2 to 1-in.

Key benefits:

  • Design flexibility for mating hardware and off-the-shelf components
  • Accommodation for ANSI standard inch hardware
  • Increased options to reduce costs with readily available components
  • Simplified sourcing of mating components with precise specifications

Most inch tap sizes are available for auto-quote, with additional sizes offered through manual quotes. Turned external and internal threads are available for auto-quote across the full range of sizes. Inch tap and thread options are available exclusively for right-hand threading.

Material and dimensional support:

  • CNC Turning supports inch thread for all materials and part sizes currently available with meviy.
  • CNC Milling supports inch tap for steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • CNC milling supports parts with inch tap holes up to a maximum overall size of 400x300x70 mm, with thread depth restrictions comparable to existing metric thread capabilities.
