This week, MachineWorks and Hwacheon announced the integration of MachineWorks CNC simulation and verification libraries into Hwacheon’s latest Harmony smart control system.

MachineWorks offers manufacturing simulation software, covering multi-axis material removal and real-time collision checking.

According to the announcement, the latest Harmony control is designed to be intuitive to use; Hwacheon’s designers aimed for smartphone-like usability. Hwacheon has been developing control software since 2012. The Harmony series was first launched in the U.S. in 2022. The latest version represents a significant upgrade. The new control will come as standard with Hwacheon’s i2 Multi-tasking machine and M1-5AX 5-axis machining center. Hwacheon plans to add the control to their advanced machines in the future.

The new control software includes the H-Simul and H-Opti apps. H-Simul provides 3-axis and 5-axis milling simulation, including complex multi-turret mill-turn lathes. H-Opti provides toolpath optimization strategies.

“After testing many systems, we found the material removal and collision detection algorithms in the MachineWorks libraries to be the most advanced available on the market. Their team of geometry experts are responsive, knowledgeable, and available to help, and it has been a pleasure to work with them,” said Daeyu Park, the Director of Hwacheon’s Software R&D center.

Dr Fenqiang Lin, the Managing Director of MachineWorks said “Hwacheon and MachineWorks have been working as partners for over a decade now. MachineWorks is proud to support Hwacheon as it brings new and advanced innovations that will improve the competitiveness of their customer’s businesses.”
