CADENAS PARTsolutions (Cincinnati, OH) has launched a mobile app platform that it calls the first mobile app offering designed specifically for industrial component manufacturers. Mobile apps created with the CADENAS PARTsolutions platform can enable manufacturers to equip its sales engineers, distributors, and its clients with capabilities to search, find, configure, price out, demonstrate, share, and even purchase components in real time from their Android environment as well as such Apple iOS devices as the iPad and iPad Mini.

Mobile apps created with the CADENAS PARTsolutions platform can combine digital product catalogs, CAD models, data sheets, company and product news, distributor contact details integrated with Google Maps, and other information a manufacturer deems essential, according to the company. The apps it creates support standard mobile device interactive features such as two-finger zoom and image rotation. As an example of an app’s potential, the company says sales engineers can use it to access products, configure components, build a demo, and then send 3D product models and PDF data sheets directly to the customer in real time.

"The evolution of mobile apps and the widespread adoption of tablet devices have opened up new ways for ]manufacturers] to market and sell their products," said Rob Zesch, president of CADENAS PARTsolutions in a press statement. "Tablets are a powerful tool for companies to arm their reps and dealers. We help manufacturers take all their essential sales info and put it at the fingertips of sales teams, distributors, and customers in a single interactive app.”

The CADENAS PARTsolutions mobile app platform offerings include a stand-alone app as well as a mobile viewer for integration into a manufacturer’s apps and formobile-ready websites. In addition to digital product catalog and product configuration functionalities, available mobile app features include 3D interactive viewing, text search, e-mail sharing of product models, social networking, and a live support option. Apps also support CAD and graphics in native formats, including Autodesk Inventor, CATIA, Creo, NX, Solid Edge, and SolidWorks. The CADENAS PARTsolutions product configuration software supports 150 file formats for 3D models.

Manufacturers can make the mobile app they created with the CADENAS PARTsolutions mobile app platform available through the Apple iTunes store and Android marketplace. CADENAS PARTsolutions works with manufacturers to deliver complete custom mobile apps from scratch, or can integrate its 3D interactive viewer into existing apps.
