Alias (Toronto, Canada), provider of 3D graphics technology, has announced the releaseof Alias Studio 12 Personal Learning Edition (PLE), afree edition of its industrial design software tools.

Those interested in learning CAID (computer-aided industrialdesign) can download the freeStudio12 PLE software from Alias' Web site,then explore the software at their own pace. Alias also makes thesoftware available with the Learning StudioTools Beginner's Guide,which can be purchased for $19.95.

Studio 12 PLE's features include digital sketching, 2D/3D sketching,and 3D modeling, high-quality rendering, and the ability to sketch overexisting 3D models. The software also includes improved watermarking offiles and images for students' use in academic projects.

The software download and the DVD including the Beginner's Guide can be orderedat www.alias.com/studiople.

Alias invites those interested to join its communityof those using Studio 12 PLE. This support will be available via Alias'web-based resource center. which provides free access tolearning materials, discussion forums, downloads of free sample files,and galleries where users can exhibit their projects. The software is available for non-commercial use only, andruns on Windows XP Professional and Windows 2000 Professional operatingsystems.
