Sescoi (Sutton, UK) has won the productivity excellence award with its new WorkXPlore 3D software in the Industrie Paris 2008 show, running from March 31 to April 4.
WorkXPlore 3D is high-speed, advanced software for collaborative working, which allows viewing, markup, analysis, and 3D visualization of 3D models and 2D designs from major CAD packages. It lets users import files through a range of interfaces, including CATIA V5, Parasolid, Unigraphics, Pro/E, SolidWorks, IGES, STEP, and STL, and combine them into a single 3D mockup for shared interrogation and analysis, before a physical prototype is manufactured.
Unlike many CAD viewers, the software can handle extremely large models with ease and includes extensive markup, dimensioning, and analysis functions to find features such as volumes, flat surfaces, and draft angles.
For exploded views and assembly methods, WorkXPlore 3D animates the movement of components and view sections, making it simple to understand the parts and processes required to build a product.
WorkXPlore will be available in various versions, from a free viewer to the full Manufacturing Pro version that includes all native CAD translators.
