TraceParts, a provider of digital engineering 3D content, has added several new CAD formats to its online library.

The additions to the TracePartsOnline.net platform include PLY, COLLADA, OFF, WAVEFRONT, OBJ, VTK and THREE JS. These file formats, according to the company, open up possibilities for design, rendering, gaming or 3D animation purposes. The platform already supports a variety of native formats including SolidWorks, CATIA, Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD, SpaceClaim and more.

"With the vast range of formats we now support on TracePartsOnline.net, designers and engineers have the utmost flexibility when downloading a model using whatever format they need. They no longer need to worry when sending a 3D model to a colleague, a client or a supplier, as they know there will always be a format compatible with whatever CAD software they use," said Bertrand Cressant, product manager at TraceParts.
