TraceParts has released a 3DX Certified Models application for Onshape's beta App Store. This app, according to the company, lets users access hundreds of millions of free standard and supplier-certified 3D models directly from Onshape.

According to a company press release, once the 3DX Certified Models app is added, users can find products from over 400 leading suppliers by graphically navigating to specific products, using tag based product search, or search across multiple certified catalogs. Selected parts provide a real-time 3D product preview and a summary of BOM (bill of materials) attributes.

"For the first time ever both 3D CAD and a 3D content library live together in a single Web browser window," said Jon Hirschtick, Onshape founder and chairman. "Onshape users can choose from hundreds of millions of 3DX Certified Models and bring them directly into Onshape with one click. We are very excited to be working once again with longtime CAD leader Bob Noftle and the TraceParts team."
