Spicer Corp. reports that version 3.24 of its ViewCafé viewing and markup tool now seamlesslyintegrates into FileNet'sECM (enterprise content management) solution for access to electronicdocuments in the FileNet repository. According to the Kitchener,Ontario based Spicer, ViewCafé has received FileNet P8 ReadyCertification as a validated partner application. FileNet's P8 seeks toensure the highest standards of usability, performance, and deploymentfor a range of ECM applications that leverage FileNet's P8 platform.

The ViewCafé integration into the FileNet P8 architecture will helporganizations build and sustain a competitive advantage by bettermanaging content throughout the enterprise, streamlining businessprocesses, and providing the full spectrum of connectivity needed tosimplify critical and everyday decision-making.

ViewCafé offers remote file viewing of documents from anywhere on thelocal network or from a web URL. New features of the ViewCafé 3.24 forFileNet P8 3.0 integration include a redaction tool to concealsensitive document information as well as administrator-setpermissions-based control, view, and markup modes. User-definedcolor-coding of markups mean that every client applet can havedifferent markup defaults. Among the new file formats ViewCafé 3.24 nowsupports are AutoCAD DWG 2004 preliminary DWG 2005, DWF 6, SolidWorks2D (version 2000, 2002, 2004), and SolidWorks 3D (version 2004).
