Wikifactory Releases Beta Platform

Wikifactory has launched its social platform for collaborative product development. Designed for open-source communities and product companies alike, Wikifactory connects the next generation of product developers to the tools to accelerate their product development. 

This all-in-one workspace for collaborative product development is complete with: version-controlled drive; 3D Visualiser—CAD/CAE for anyone, from anywhere; Issue Tracker & Documentation—iterate faster, be more agile; and permission systems and community tools for collaboration with stakeholders.

The Beta will introduce paid subscription plans for individuals and teams who wish to collaborate in a private workspace to make access to agile PLM tools affordable for small- and medium-sized product companies.

Wikifactory launched its public alpha in September 2018, providing all tools for free to founding members. Wikifactory quickly got adopted by the open source hardware community and is now the home of key initiatives such as the FabLab movement (a network of fabrication spaces and makers) and e-NABLE (the global network of makers of open source prosthetics).

Wikifactory currently has more than 3,000 product developers signed up and is currently growing at about 34% month on month.

With the beta launch, Wikifactory will be targeting the PLM market. 

Wikifactory will provide its tools for free for public use, supporting innovation in the open source hardware community.
