ANSYS, Inc. (Canonsburg, PA) has announced the availability of a directconnection between its ANSYS Workbench simulation environment andDesigner Modeling 3D MCAD software from CoCreate. CoCreate's newlyavailable .NET API paved the way for extending the 3D MCAD environmentof Designer Modeling to the ANSYS Workbench environment, according to astatement accompanying the announcement.

With the new integration, solid models created in CoCreate's DesignerModeling can be transferred directly to the ANSYS simulationenvironment. The integration also establishes an association with the3D MCAD model so that changes made within Designer Modeling are updatedwithin ANSYS Workbench. Additionally, connectivity between the twoapplications means that design and simulation can run in parallel.

ANSYS will offer the integration starting with the 13.20 version ofOneSpace Designer Modeling from CoCreate and ANSYS 10.0. The OneSpaceDesigner geometry interface is available from ANSYS.
