BigRep will unveil its new-generation STUDIO printer at the RAPID+TCT event in Detroit, May 20-23, 2019, at booth #503. The new and improved BigRep STUDIO G2 is designed to print engineering-grade materials while offering the benefits of the original STUDIO. The STUDIO G2 is available to order now.

The German engineered and manufactured STUDIO G2 is specially designed for industrial applications. It features a new, fully enclosed and insulated build envelope of 500x1,000x500 mm, fast-heating print bed reaching 100°C, and temperature-controlled filament chamber. With its dual extruder equipped with two 0.6 mm ruby nozzles, the printer is capable of producing detailed results with abrasive engineering-grade materials, such as PA6/66, at layer heights as little as 0.1 mm.

Future materials to be released will include other engineering-grade materials like ASA and composite materials with carbon / glass fiber enhancement. The STUGIO G2 also comes equipped with the new BigRep BLADE slicer software, which provides accurate printing time and material use calculations for optimized productivity, the company reports.

“We’ve built it for printing with the abrasive, engineering-grade materials that the industry demands in a next-‐level, space-‐saving printer for large-‐format parts,” says BigRep CEO, Stephan Beyer, PhD.

The STUDIO G2 is ergonomically designed to fit any workspace with maximum ease of use and accessibility. Standing at a height of 1,765 mm, it’s a machine that’s optimized for everyday use even where space is at a premium.

In addition to the STUDIO G2 introduction, BigRep will also showcase the new BigRep PRO, equipped with BigRep’s MXT Metering Extruder Technology, and a Bosch Rexroth motion control system. Lastly BigRep, for the first time in North America, will showcase NERA, a fully 3D-printed e-motorbike, and its designer, Marco Mattia Cristofori will present on how it came to life in just 12 weeks.
