BETA CAE Systems announces the launch of DEEN, a new application to enable more effective collaboration between design and simulation teams in product development.
DEEN—short for DEsign + ENgineering—uses the model as the basis for collaboration. Review sessions can be live or asynchronous, allowing for fast review and clear markup.
The company says DEEN is a desktop application that can open data from most post-processors holding models, simulation results, and additional data. BETA says DEEN offers tools for efficient information exchange to facilitate feedback between CAD engineers and simulation analysts without the need to dumb down engineering data into generic enterprise collaboration tools.
Reviewers can markup models, add to-do lists, add comments and compare design alternatives inside DEEN. The company says this eliminates the need for non-simulation experts to learn a complicated new interface.
Once inside DEEN, the engineering data can be viewed collaboratively with minimum bandwidth considerations. DEEN also offers photorealistic rendering of engineering data and can prepare the data for viewing in virtual reality. The result, BETA says, is a more effective environment for cross-functional and cross-discipline collaboration.
DEEN can be operated separately from other BETA CAE Systems’ products but requires BETA credits to use.
DEEN is now available directly from BETA CAE Systems.
