Materialise (Leuven, Belgium) announced its Pure Creativity 2008 Competition, open to design students worldwide, between the ages of 18 and 25. These students will have the opportunity to become familiar with freeform design and additive manufacturing, while exploring their own creativity.

Among the judges for the event are Philippe Starck, Naomi Kaempfer the Creative Director of .MGX, and the design team at mydeco. Select finalists will be invited to visit the Materialise facilities in Leuven, Belgium, with a Starck Network designer. At the facilities, they will be able to experiment with state-of-the-art technologies, and learn from the designers who will improve on their projects.

Philippe Starck in London will award the winner a £1000 prize, and the winner will be featured in IDFx magazine.
