Huntsman Advanced Materials (The Woodlands, TX) exhibited internationally Araldite Digitalis, a rapid manufacturing machine which is said to significantly reduces production times and costs, at EuroMold 2008. Araldite Digitalis is a new polymeric additive fabrication system that company spokesmen say is capable of manufacturing large numbers of parts simultaneously at speeds with pinpoint accuracy not previously possible before. 

Araldite Digitalis is based on entirely new microelectro mechanical systems (MEMS), and is easy to use and maintain.

What differentiates Araldite Digitalis from the light-reflecting MEMS technology used in 3D printers is the MLS MicroLightSwitch, a new exposure system operating via a computer controlled micro-mechanical shutter system. This system makes it possible for a large surface area of radiation curable resin to be selectively exposed in a single step. This results in fast uniform exposure with high accuracy.

Huntsman reports that the new technology offers increase exponentially as the number, size, and complexity of parts produced simultaneously increase. The company anticipates commercial use of Araldite Digitalis later in 2009.
