FARO Technologies, Inc. (Lake Mary, FL) announced version 4.0 of its3D laser scanning software family, FARO Scene, FARO Scout, FARO ScoutLT and FARO Record, on Monday October 9. FARO's family of applicationsenable you to view, administer, calibrate, filter, and manage 3Dpoint-cloud data collected with the company's FARO Laser Scanner LSportable measurement machine.

FARO says that Version 4.0 offers such improvements as "intrinsic useof inclination sensor for faster registration," constraint-plane fitfor high-accuracy plane positioning, and intelligent contrastadjustment to improve point-cloud visualization. Other enhancementsinclude automatic filtering, smoother export of slices, and the abilityto export of objects in DXF format.

The FARO Laser Scanner LS's laptop computer recreates and records allof an object's 3D measurements. The scanning component offers a360-degree path up to 76m away. in total, the systems is saod to havethe ability to collect up to 120,000 points per second with up to 3mmaccuracy.

Version 4.0 of the FARO laser scanning software family is available ineight different languages, including Chinese, English, German,Japanese, and Spanish. For full details, click here.
