The Other Solutions (Meridian, ID) has announced that it will be adistributor the new wide-format ScanPlus 6 LF642 Copy Scanner from GTCOCalcomp, Inc.  (Columbia, MD).

The ScanPlus 6 LF642 offers a 600dpi optical scanning system coupledwith a 42-inch wide imaging area, enabling it to accommodate largeE-size/A0 engineering drawings, architectural sketches, maps,blueprints, and sepias. Creature comforts include a built-in copysystem that allows you to scan directly to a printer on the network,and the ScanPlus 6 LF642's built-in hard disk enables to scan an imageto its internal hard disk at maximum speed and spool the image to thenetwork printer when time and network bandwidth permit. The LF642 alsooffers a scan to PDF option.

Operation specifications include 16-bit gray-tone capture, up to12ipsscanning performance in both B/W and graytone, and up to 3ips colorscanning performance. The scanner's USB2 and LAN interface can adapt todifferent environments either as a stand-alone copy system, a truenetwork scanner, or as a traditional scanner attached to a local PC viathe USB2 interface. Additionally, the ScanPlus 6 LF642 is equipped withwhat GT Calcomp calls Accurate Lens Enhancement technology, whichcalibrates the position of each pixel to meet an accuracy of 0.1% +/- 1pixel between any two points. Image enhancement features includesharpening, softening, blur, and 2D-adaptive.
