PTC Releases Mathcad Prime 3.1

New features include an updated API and tighter integration with PTC Creo.

PTC has released PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 engineering software, which is designed for analysis, solving, documentation and sharing of calculations and design intent. This new release, the company states, enables users to better connect calculations to other applications and processes including PTC Creo.

Version 3.1 includes features such as an improved API (application programming interface), large data handling, an enhanced library of pre-built worksheets and integration with other tools.

With the tighter integration of PTC Creo, users can embed worksheets directly into CAD models at the part or assembly level, drive geometric models with within Creo and use parameters from Creo as inputs to calculations in Mathcad.

“We are very pleased to share PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1” said Brent Edmonds, senior director of PTC Mathcad. “In this release we worked very hard to provide a solution that makes sharing vital engineering calculations and design intent a simple, cost-effective process. Gone are the days of having to waste time going back and updating and mapping the calculation files to a new product each time a design is modified. With PTC Mathcad Prime 3.1 we are essentially giving our users back the time – and cost – of setting up new projects.”
