Sinequa, vdR Group Partner on Search, CAD Technologies

Sinequa, a company immersed in intelligent search, and vdR Group, an engineering, manufacturing and AEC solutions provider, have partnered to unlock the value of data stored in CAD models through a new integration of Sinequa’s Intelligent Search platform with vdR Group’s flagship enablement technology for search-based applications, CADnection. The partnership amplifies the power of Intelligent Search to enable greater efficiencies for the engineering and manufacturing industries, the companies say.

CADnection is a plug-and-play utility that delivers app-ready data, insights and viewables derived from CAD models. CADnection can process about 95% of all CAD applications in use today, including AutoCAD, Catia, Creo, Inventor, Solidworks, NX, Revit and more, the companies report. The data is extracted, enhanced and passed to the Sinequa Intelligent Search Platform. Visual representations of the CAD model are produced to support 2D and 3D viewing. CADnection’s CAD model authentication process ensures the most current version is used. 

With Sinequa, engineers and product managers can access mission-critical content—wherever it lives and regardless of format—all in one place, the companies report. Sinequa drives measurable improvements in efficiency by elevating employee productivity, increasing quality and minimizing duplicate work.
