3D Systems announced the agenda for its first Users’ World Conference scheduled from September 24-27, 2007, in Rock Hill, SC. Presentations cover major industry segments such as aerospace, automotive, consumer goods, medical devices, and architecture. 3D Systems also plans to discuss its vision for the future of its technology and unveil its new V-Flash Desktop Modeler.

Among the keynote speakers are representatives of Honda Automotive, who will present digital product development. SC Johnson will discuss cutting prototype turnaround times, and Nestle Switzerland will share some of its packaging development expertise. Bell Helicopter will cover its voyage into rapid manufacturing, and 3M will present its path to digital manufacturing for dental applications.

Other presentations will focus on such topics such as getting the most from your RP investment, the process of reverse engineering, and success starts with a good file. Hands-on training sessions will cover  postprocessing, build setup tricks, and system tuning for maximum performance.

Some hands-on training sessions will take place at 3D Systems University, a new training facility established in Rock Hill in collaboration with York Technical College. Two- and three-day courses cover the fundamentals of transforming designs into 3D concept models using 3D Systems InVision rapid prototyping systems.  York Technical College plans to add coursework addressing rapid prototyping and manufacturing to its two-year associate degree program in Mechanical Engineering Technology.
