3Dconnexion says its 3D mice provide SketchUp users with advanced control of their designs and workspace for increased productivity when modeling buildings, furniture, appliances, cars and more.

Whether designing in context, creating a shadow study or photo-modeling existing models, 3Dconnexion 3D mice are designed to allow SketchUp designers to move more intuitively and with precise control.

According to the company, 3D mice:

  • Allows SketchUp designers to simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate as if they are holding the model or camera in their hand.
  • Have a six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) sensor that is capable of detecting input as small as four micrometers.
  • Include programmable buttons provide quick access to commonly used application commands.
  • Sets the center of rotation to a point on the model that is nearest to the display screen center, which is helpful at higher zoom levels, or SketchUp users can pick a new center of rotation point for an individual design task.

The entire 3Dconnexion product line is compatible with SketchUp 8, including the Professional Series with the SpacePilot PRO ($399) and SpaceExplorer ($299), and the Standard Series with the SpaceNavigator ($99) and SpaceNavigator for Notebooks ($129).
