Certeon (Burlington, MA) says that its new S-Series ApplicationAcceleration Blueprint for Solid Edge can reduce download andassembly times of large Solid Edge design files to a matter of secondswithout making manufacturing organizations add more network bandwidth.

Designed to address network latency delays that can bog down suchoperations as digital collaboration and content delivery, especiallyamong distant groups accessing central data repositories over a WAN(wide area network), the Certeon Application Acceleration Blueprint forSolid Edge works in conjunction with Insight, the built-in designmanagement capability of Solid Edge. A network appliance, theApplication Acceleration Blueprint adds application intelligence toyour network. It leverages its specific knowledge of the applicationdata at the object level to minimize network traffic, thereby improvingapplication response time. Simultaneously, the appliance maintainsend-to-end security.

Certeon appliances integrate seamlessly into your network. They do notrequire any changes to your applications, servers, or desktop. They canbe clustered, and the appliances can be deployed in-line or one-armedoff the edge router(s).

The introduction of the Certeon Application Acceleration Blueprint forSolid Edge represents the Certeon's entrance into accelerating productlifecycle management (PLM). Additionally, Certeon has added UGS as aComplementary Technology Partner to its Acceleration Partners programand has become a UGS Voyager Software Partner.

Certeon S-Series Appliances featuring an Application AccelerationBlueprint for Solid Edge Insight are available immediately. To supportsmall branch offices, regional offices, and large data centers, Certeonoffers three models of the appliance. Pricing ranges from $6,000 to$35,000.
