Actify Inc.(San Francisco, CA) says SpinFire Professional 8.0, its digital designcommunication tool, will be available next month. It provides 2D and 3DCAD visualization capabilities without requiring a nativeCAD system.

SpinFire Professional 8.0 supports files created in major CAD fileformats, and offers a single software solution to view, measure, mark up,and share all 2D and 3D data formats without needing to purchaseand maintain seats of native CAD systems. This allows for paperlessdistribution of complex design data.

Key features of SpinFire Professional 8.0 include the ability to viewand interact with PMI annotations; expanded exploded animationcapability, a new Application Program Interface that allows third partydevelopers and end users to create plug-in applications to leveragefunctions and technology within SpinFire Professional for customizeduses and vertical industry applications; a new intuitive user interfacethat features a new layout, grouping, style and logic of theapplication user interface similar to Microsoft Office; enhanced markupfeatures for notes and dimensions added to a part or assembly; improvedanalysis capabilities for removing material and retaining materialcross-section modes allowing users to choose between a fullcross-section view and a profile view; complete part comparisonsbetween an original model and a second version to highlight addedand/or removed material; and an ability to save files to Intel’s U3Dformat for back-end archiving of design data in PDF format.
