Synergis Software has released the latest version of Adept 2014, Adept 2014 SP1, which the company says is a “rollup” of all the features and bug fixes, including all the hot fixes and service packs that have been released since the original Adept 2014 (v8.8.0.135) was introduced in August of 2013. Adept 2014 SP1 also includes new capabilities, such as in-the-window integration with SolidWorks 2014 SP0.

It also includes a major update to the Adept Desktop Client viewer,  which provides the same core functionality as before, but with a refreshed user interface, support for SolidWorks 2013 and other updated formats.

The update includes Full Text extraction for Full Text Searching;  publishing with Adept PublishWave; and support for SolidWorks 2013 Viewing and Toolbox Documentation Update.

Adept 2014 supports viewing SolidWorks 2013 file formats with the Adept Desktop Client viewer and the Adept Web Client viewer. Documentation related to using SolidWorks Toolbox with Adept has also been updated.

The Adept integration and the Adept Task Pane have been updated to support AutoCAD 2014; AutoCAD Electrical 2014; AutoCAD Mechanical 2014;  Autodesk Inventor 2014; and Autodesk Navisworks 2014. The solution also supports Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.

The Adept 2014 Desktop Client is for use with Microsoft Office 2013 products. The Adept Plug-Ins for Word, Excel, and Outlook have been fully tested and deemed compatible with MS Office 2013, the company says

Several enhancements have been made to the OutlookToAdept (O2A)  plug-in. Users can now select the format and file extension that e-mails should be saved to when sending them to Adept, including MSG,  DOC, .HTML, .RTF, .TXT. The plug-in now supports various Outlook and Operating System version combinations with either the 32-bit or 64-bit version of the plug-in, and multiple emails can now be selected and sent to Adept simultaneously.
